Greetings!
Another Renaissance poll! This time between two more much-loved classics I think that I will need to go with Scheherazade as it is just about as sublime as they ever got. But Prologue has some wonderful music on it. But what do you think?

They're both 5-star albums for me, but my vote goes to Scheherazade.

I'm tempted to vote for Prologue so it doesn't get skunked, but I strongly prefer Scheherazade.

Prologue is a forgotten diamond, however Scheherazade is sublime.

Two excellent albums, but Scheherazade just shades it.

When in doubt raid JS Bach. Prologue has a paucity of ideas, but then it's the first album release of the new line up.

I still have my sealed CD copy right here on my shelf! I should probably open that, huh?

These are the only Renaissance albums I can get on with. Picked Prologue as it was marginally more of a favorite, but not listened to either for years.

Tempted to go with the underdog here, but, nope, Scheherezade is just much better.

An interesting pair-up as Prologue represents a gearing up for the group while Scheherazade was in the gearing down phase. Awkwardly put, but I never felt that the latter (especially the title cut long player) covered expansive new ground while the former significantly established the group as burgeoning prog players.

Scheherazade gets my vote.
I would have been interested to see how A Song For all Seasons would have done here. |
