I've only heard two albums by Discipline, but what great albums they are! I do like Echolyn too, but Discipline by a couple hairs.

Both bands have one album in my top 20. Unfolded Like Staircase is the best prog album released after the classic era (1970-76).

Definitely Discipline. Echolyn make some great music but I find their output patchy. In contrast, I love everything Discipline have done (and also Matthew Parmenter solo stuff too)

Unfolded Like Staircase is an amazing album! Echolyn's Mei, Cowboy and The End are very good..........Discipline by a slight margin
Plus Parmenter would love to be the next Peter Gabriel Edited by Catcher10 - January 21 2021 at 08:36 |

I think he's more Peter Hammill than Peter Gabriel!

Discipline. For some reason, Echolyn always sounded to me like goring nowhere, prog for the sake of prog, with no real direction.
