I actually think the title track on L'Isola Di Niente is the single-best PFM track.

Per Un Amico overall is a better album, but said song is better than the material on Per Un Amico - which is still incredibly strong and still at the top of my list, don't accuse me of bashing here; I'm illustrating how strong said track is - if that makes any sense.

Reverse chronological order for me.
Dig me...But don't...Bury me
I'm running still, I shall until, one day, I hope that I'll arrive
Warning: Listening to jazz excessively can cause a laxative effect.

I guess you could technically say that's what I mean as well!

Listening to their 1974 entry the most by far as of late.

When I'm in a PFM mood, Per un amico is the first album I listen to, then the first. The third has never clicked for me.

Storia di un Minuto for me, very easily. It's the one with most songs that I like, and it's got my favourite song, Impressioni di Settembre. I have never understood why it's Per un Amico the one that gets all the love.

Funny, other way around for me! Storia doesn't click, but the other two do massively.

Great poll results thus far, PA! Clap

Lisola for me. 8.5/10
Amico is close but not quite as heavy. 8/10
Storia is too raw in composition and the production isn’t as good. 7/10
All I like is prog related bands beginning late 60's/early 70's. Their music from 1968 - 83 has the composition and sound which will never be beaten. Perfect blend of jazz, classical, folk and rock.

Usually not a complaint for me, but I feel the same. I think my ears were spoiled by Per Un Amico first, then reading reviews about the first album, and it didn't click for me. I'm sure you'll see a thread in a year or so from me worshipping it, etc. lol LOL Wink.

Now listening to Premiata a lot.

For now the axis: 'Is Your Face On Straight' - 'Luna Nuova' is what has me bound. L'Isola track I like fairly enough too.

Per un Amico is sleek. My favorite there is 'Il Banchetto'. But I met it much later than L'Isola so I don't know it that well.

So, not voting for now, but it's between those two.

'Storia' I know since long..  when I'm finished binging on Amico and L'Isola, maybe I'll revisit it and maybe I'll end up the same as you!^

Will go with 'Per Un Amico' today, classic Italian prog rock.

I think the haunting Il Banchetto is the best song PFM ever wrote (and PFM wrote plenty of good songs).

Fantastic 3 albums but Per Un Amico is as close to perfection as you get imo.
