Let's go back to the 70s for the third and final Random Album Clash for this week. Many excellent releases from 1976; I will be voting Rainbow's 'Rising', how about you?

Nice selection! More than half of these are 4 stars and up. My pick is Still Life.

I'm running still, I shall until, one day, I hope that I'll arrive Warning: Listening to jazz excessively can cause a laxative effect. |

Wow! So many great albums in that list, with six of them competing more than the others for my vote. But one more standing above that competing pack. Because I find it pretty much impossible to look past Bowie’s Station to Station, which is easily one of my favourite Bowie albums. A lot of my favour for the album, admittedly, comes from the magnificent title track. But heck, I’d probably take that one song over any of the albums here. It’s such a tour-de-force!

Quite a list! Don't know the Kaipa and Return to forever albums, but the rest... I like them all so it is difficult to single out just one album. Flipping the coin, today I'm going with Alan Parson's Project...

What a difficult choice!! Love both Genesis albums, Moonmadness is brilliant, Kaipa and Gong are both great too and I've always loved Tales of Mystery and Imagination, but they're my two favorite VDGG albums and Still Life edges it.

Gazeuse! There are so many great albums to choose from in 1976, proving there's Still Life in this Rising tide of Random Album Clashes. I was Wind & Wondering whether to vote for Genesis again, but I'm humping for Camel this time around at the Dawn of a new day, before I make my Presence felt elsewhere.

Moonmadness, Still Life, and Gazeuse are outstanding. I'll vote for Gong as I feel that the other two will need my support less.

1976 was a great year for what in retrospect were the waining years of prog. At least the first wave.
I can't get past the amazing card-trick of the tale. TotT>Romantic Warrior>W&W>Presence>oh my god, so many great records. I own practically this entire list on CD. I think this was pretty much the year I started discovering what alternatives were out there in music over what they were playing on the radio. The Eloy and Kaipa records are stuff I came upon much much later and have really enjoyed.
