Prog started to simplify in the late 70s; although some musicians pushed in the opposite direction. Anyone who lived through this period will know that some great music came out in this 'sub genre'.

Are you one of mine who can sleep with one eye open wide?
Agonizing psychotic solitary hours to decide
Reaching for the light at the slightest noise from the floor
Palms of hands perspire heart goes leaping at a knock from the door...

Sadly disbanded mid-75 so just outside the scope of the poll.

Pierre Moerlen's Gong > Brand X. Would've voted for the first National Health though.

So hard to choose on this one. I love the UK album (hell who doesn't?). It is one of the best prog albums ever.... HOWEVER I love Brand X so much and Moroccan Roll drew me in YEARS BEFORE. So I voted for that.

A week ago I would've voted for UK. But right now i'll go with NH - oCaC. Lately I've been listening to it a lot. I especially like the song "Binoculars".

Anyway, the music of Hatfield and Heath is similar. Edited by Grumpyprogfan - June 24 2021 at 06:54 |

Wasn't Dave relieved that Pip wasn't involved originally? Strangely, 'Of Cures...' is more a successor to 'Rotter's Club' than the first album was - mainly due to the presence of Alan Gowen.
