These are both about 12 minutes and are a great mix of great vocal melodies and really strong extended instrumental passages.
Porg for short. My love of music doesn't end with prog! Feel free to discuss all sorts of music with me. Odds are I'll give it a chance if I haven't already! :)

As much as I love TCS, I can't vote against STarless.

The Cinema Show is one of the finest moments in prog.
Starless isn't.

WELL....

I came here to completely agree.

Cinema Show is Tony Banks' finest hour on display outside of Firth of Fifth IMHO. That solo at the end of CS is like guitar-shred worthy lines.

I love them both too much to vote against either of them!
Because they also also very different in spirit, I cannot decide which one I'd love more.

Let's say this: if you took a four-minute vocal-included excerpt of both, the winner would be Starless, which loses when judged by their instrumental sections.

But Starless appears to be the most eclectic one, so... no vote. It's impossible to vote against these two masterpieces.

I'll vote for Genesis. Love both songs. I don't have a strong preference.
Ultimately bored by endless ecstasy!

I'm not a fan of the Starless & Bible Black album, but I still prefer Starless to The Cinema Show. Confused

Both are masterpieces in my subjective judgment, but I voted Starless.

To me, Starless is King Crimson's greatest achievement. The Cinema Show is great, Genesis have more outstanding music even on SEBTP.
Porg for short. My love of music doesn't end with prog! Feel free to discuss all sorts of music with me. Odds are I'll give it a chance if I haven't already! :)
