Dionne / Bregent from Quebec were pretty great:

Soldato of the Pan Head Mafia. We'll make you an offer you can't listen to.

I was pretty keen on Clevis, a bass / drums duo from LA:

Clevis - Subliminal

Clevis - Amalgamation

Later they became a trio.

^ If I'm not mistaken, these are all playing with other musicians on their albums, so they're not two piece prog acts.

One I'm thinking of (thanks to Lewian and the Interactive polls) is Solarference.

Duh. How can I forget Jon & Vangelis.

I suppose you could also include Steely Dan and the Alan Parsons Project.

It does say further down the thread "However, I was more interested in performing/touring acts.".

I guess that rules Steely Dan out, and most of the others.

The band Alaska is the only band I have seen live that is made up of two musicians and only two musicians played on their album. Unfortunately they only released one album which was their self titled album from 1998. The lead singer Al Lewis later turned up in Starcastle for their song of times album.

Steely Dan (and APP for that matter)have toured. Not a lot though.

Yes, but I'm guessing Steely Dan didn't tour as a duo. Could be wrong though.

They also played during a Triumvirat reunion concert in St. Louis, Missouri, USA, in I think 1998; it was filmed at the time, and Triumvirat singer Barry Palmer flew over from England to do vocals.

Vital Duo was a side project of Minimum Vital.  Just the two Payssan bros playing together.  I have a DVD of them that's darn cool.  I saw them at BajaProg I believe, although it could've been ProgFest.

A two-man "performing/touring" prog rock act? Looks like I'm the only guy with Zombi on the brain!

No other guys on that stage, just Steve Moore & A.E. Paterra.
