I struggle a bit with most Ange post Au-delà du Délire - when the arrangements gets sparser, the "ultrafrench" theatrical vocals gets too much for me. I really loved the yacht-rockin' Windchase tune. Either that or Repent Walpurgis. (went for Horsemen to Symphinity, and suppose I need to check out Windchase... again)

Gosh, it has been ages that I heard that Windchase album... Passport was never really into my scope; a friend had a couple of their albums, but it never clicked with me. That Procol Harum cover by The Shiver is very good - never heard that band. But I have to choose Ange here, it remains very distinctive music...

Never heard these before, and gave them a good listen (thanks for the YouTube share).
Windchase just ahead of Passport.
My ears weren't too keen on the other two.
Welcome to the middle of the film.

I do love these kinds of song polls with embeds. The Ange and The Shiver were the only ones very familiar to me. I enjoyed the other two (had heard the Passport before), but it's definitely a vote for "Repent Walpurgis" for me. And what phallic cover art by H. R. Giger (he often brought in genitalia-evocative and provocative imagery).

I can be a conservative guy in some respects and will vote for the only one I knew before, which is Passport. I haven't listened to Passport for a while but they'd deserve it - I actually love much of their material.

Of the other ones I really liked the Windchase one (should be recommended to the people who are yearning for more early Camel-like music), the Shiver one is interesting and would probably need more listens to get into. Unfortunately Ange is lost on me because I don't like the vocals.

Oh yes, that's quite a handicap if you don't like the vocals... Ange are in my personal Big Six (I kick out Genesis and Jethro Tull and also include Franck Zappa...Approve) and the vocals are part of what makes (made? their more recent outings are so so) them great, for me.

I'm always ready for a repeat play of Repeat Walpurgis - a song that gives me the shivers, and it's not even Halloween yet. Smile
