Just curious
I'm guitarist and songwriter for the prog-related band Mother Bass. Find us at http://www.motherbass.com. I also enter stages throughout the Netherlands performing my poetry.

As much as I like Magma, I would miss all the rest of French prog combined more.
If I were a member of any "other French prog" band, I'd probably not be very happy about the pairing. Wink

One band against a bunch of them? Quite hard not to vote for all other French prog, even though I love Magma.

Obviously Magma is a great band, but one band against the whole scene is a bit ridiculous.

This poll reminds me of a "Dream Theater vs all prog-metal" poll from a while ago. Obviously DT got a few votes, but that was just fanboyism. LOL

"all other French prog" - absolutely no doubt about it for me
quality over quantity, and all kind of PopcoRn almost beyond

I can certainly understand that, and we're talking about a big country with a prominent Prog scene.

But it could be maybe interesting to hear what friso is curious about?

I don't think there is any example in the world of a band that is bigger or better than all the other national bands together.

I like Magma, but there are many other great or even better things besides Magma.

I'll back Yggdrasil against the rest of the Faroe Islands prog scene.

I voted for Magma, as much as I like other French prog artists (especially Clearlight, Ange and Christian Boulé and, if you count them as French, Gong).

I know Magma but I'm not that familiar with French prog in general so no vote.

Magma is fantastic but variety is the spice of life.

My post was only partly a joke about the fact that the Faroes don’t have many bands, because Yggdrasil is awesome (if you like a combination of Nordic folk, jazz, modern classical and occasional raucous outbursts of noise).

Magma
Dig me...But don't...Bury me
I'm running still, I shall until, one day, I hope that I'll arrive
Warning: Listening to jazz excessively can cause a laxative effect.
