Camel wins easily for me here, having listened to all of Gentle Giant's underwhelming albums for the first time yesterday. Unhappy

It's hard to choose from these great albums. But just edging it for me is the Gentle Giant run.

Great though Gentle Giant are, no trio of albums by anyone matches that trio from Camel.

Gentle Giant aren't for everyone, just as Camel isn't for everyone. Giant gets my vote overwhelmingly.

At least you listened, Paul.

Close, but Camel.

There's one from each I either haven't heard or my copy skips so much I feel like I haven't heard it, so I'll vote based on the two from each I have heard:

GG - Octopus and In A Glass House are both consistently fun and perplexing, with extremely catchy passages that double as extremely weird and difficult to reproduce ones. Both would vie for my favorite GG album any day.

Camel - The Snow Goose I've only heard once but I know it's a masterpiece based on that. Just beautiful beautiful music with many changing moods and unique motifs. Moonmadness on the other hand I find just okay. Some songs are really good, others just kinda leave me cold. I've listened to it many times and still find I get lost in the tracklist. I'm also not really a fan of how it starts. Track 2 is a much better piece to my ears.

It'll be Gentle Giant for me.
Porg for short. My love of music doesn't end with prog! Feel free to discuss all sorts of music with me. Odds are I'll give it a chance if I haven't already! :)
