All of these albums were created by Norwegian artists.
They were selected from PA's Top 30 rated albums from each of the past ten years,
2013-2022.

I love so much Norwegian prog, much of which is in PA, and some of which is not, but if I made a poll, I’m not sure I’d have put even one of these in it (which is not to say I don’t like them, as most of them, I do). It makes it hard to vote, as none of these are particular favourites, and nothing particular stands out to me to warrant choosing above the others. 🤔

(If I have counted correctly, I own albums by 12 of the 18 artists you’ve listed in your poll, so there is quite a bit of crossover in what we both enjoy.)

I shall have to give this some thought. In the meantime, these are possibly my 25 favourite Norwegian bands in PA, so who I would probably choose my 25 poll options from, were I to have made this poll

Arabs in Aspic
Arcturus
Atrox
Borknagar
D’Accord
Enslaved
Fervent Mind
Gargamel
Green Carnation
Ihsahn
In The Woods…
Laughing Stock
Leprous
Major Parkinson
Manes
Maraton
Mythopoeic Mind
Nordagust
Oak
Ping
Rendezvous Point
Seven Impale
Shaman Elephant
Shining
Ulver

From the list, Wobbler. I do enjoy Anti-Depressive Delivery and Ark, also.

I like Anti-Depressive Delivery and Ark, but I just can’t get into Wobbler.

From the list: Shamblemaths. Krokofant would be a close second.

I don't know that many. I love the latest albums of Jordsjo and Needlepoint but have to check out their earlier material. I like the first Shamblemaths album much more than the 2021 one though. Vote for The All Is One.

I love the sound of Jordsjø and voted for Nattfiolen. But right now my acual favorite is Ævestaden's 2021 debut Ingen mere Gråter. A progfolky trio of multliinstrumentalists (lyre, fiddle, mouth harp, kantele, vocals and electronics) with a swedish and a norwegian (both female) main vocalists.

This live session (with two songs not on the album) is out of this world gorgeous

Both Wobbler albums. But Nattfiolen - Jordsjø is a close second.

Wow! So many great albums here.

My top 10 would be:
  • Magnified by Giants - Caligonaut
  • Giant Sky - Giant Sky
  • Fifth - Krokofant
  • The All Is One - Motorpsycho
  • Nattfiolen - Jordsjø
  • From Silence to Somewhere - Wobbler
  • Jord - Jordsjø
  • The Congregation - Leprous
  • Twilight Cinema - Major Parkinson
  • Um Himinjëður - Tirill

but I voted for Major Parkinson (again!) Thumbs Up
