Recording studios - oases of silence and attention in the midst of a noisy and mistreated world besieged by deadly coughs - are a gem as precious as they are expensive. But not everything comes down to them. Much of prog has happened in live sessions; prog's experimental essence, often undervalued or flatly disregarded, is conducive to this.
