I was on the site earlier today and voted in a couple of polls which then came up with the "You Have Already Voted..."etc banner after I'd made my choice.

But tonight have logged in on my home PC - same member/password details of course - and find I am still able to vote on those polls where I had before - first time I wasn't quite sure whether I had or hadn't previously voted, then I went to another poll I know I voted on and did so again!

Not that it's that important in the scheme of things!! But thought you should know....

The polls would be more reliable, if this wouldn't be possible!  I think the poll checks only your IP, but not the username? The reviews check both...

checking the IP wouldn't be right either; there are 3 people here using 1 computer (BaldJean, BaldFriede and USAGirl)

I think the polls must check the user name, as I PCs in two locations, and get the "you have already voted" message OK on both.

The problem is that each time you logout, the counter of your vote dissapears and you can vote once again.

I noticed this on one trip, because using the hotel PC, I had to log out each time I used the computer to prevent any spam by any other person who use the computer.

This never happens on my PC because I never logout, being almost the only user (Neither my girlfriend or my family when visisting me, care about Prog').

I don't give a damn about polls, but maybe there's a solution because if some people take their time to create a poll, the least we can do is to make it the more reliable possible.
