Jez Creek is a British electronic musician based in Nottingham who performs Berlin School soundscapes under the moniker Modulator ESP (short for Experimental Synthesis Project). Creek originally played keyboards for progressive rock groups Spiritland, Voyage Within and Shadowdancer, all the while nurturing a love for 1970s electronic music such as Tangerine Dream and Jean Michel Jarre.

Having recorded fragments during his many years in ensembles, Creek adopted the moniker in 2001 and began to compile his debut album featuring the best of his work from the past half decade, culminating in Random Fluctuations, the first of what would be over a hundred studio and live releases (and counting). Creek left Shadowdancer in 2003 to focus primarily on Modulator ESP, using analog and digital synthesizers along with samplers and sequencers to craft engrossing, longform improvised dark ambient kosmische musik, initially inspired by Jarre, Andy Pickford and Mark Shreeve before moving in a less rhythmic and more atmospheric direction nodding to Redshift, ARC and Airsculpture, among others. Creek also plays in like-minded groups Infinity Curve (with Peter Challoner), Modulight (with Chris Conway) and Astrogator (with Steve Humphries) and organises the Awakenings electronic showcase in Staffordshire, held in Rugeley since 2016.

Similar artists in the archives include Stephen Parsick, Phrozenlight, Cosmic Ground, Radio Massacre International, Suspirium and Atomine Elektrine.
