PFM Suonare Suonare: much maligned by prog purists here in Italy, but which I personally am very fond of. Nice transitional record from 70s prog to 80s pop.

Picchio dal Pozzo. I've got a hardback orbit and a dinner duck insulting me about my nuclear bags.

Picchio dal Pozzo's Abbiamo tutti i suoi problemi for me. It's not as easy an album as the self-titled, nor have I returned to it nearly so much -- it has gone in a more avant and Henry Cowish direction -- but I found this album very rewarding. The going on 16 minute track, "Mettiamo il caso" was one track I loved from first listen (warmer, builds, melodic), and back in the mid 2000s I was quite obsessed with the song. Like Henry Cow's Western Culture, it's one of those albums that took quite along time to open up and reveal itself to me where I could appreciate all of it.

^ How did I miss that one!?? Embarrassed

Probably because it didn't show up on PA's list of 1980 Italian prog albums. Confused

Anyway, thanks for giving Goblin a well-deserved mention. Thumbs Up

Goblin would've been my second choice - after Antonius Rex - if they'd been in the poll. Cry

Here I thought it was a bit of crafty coding.

But, yes...Goblin!

MO.DO - nice little under-rated album which I don’t think will get many votes so I’ve given it mine.

Well said, and my vote as well even though it's a tough listen.

One of my favorite albums of all time and easily blows away the lightweight competition from this watered down era of the once great Italian prog bands.

It may be too late now, but I've made an executive decision and replaced Stormy Six in the poll with Goblin (at the bottom of the list). Smile

I voted for Art Fleury. Love them actually. But I will give Abbiamo tutti i suoi problemi a relisten.
