Oldfield and Le Orme.
Not such a big fan of The Ozrics, not my thing.

^ I like the Tentacles, but I'm not that big on Ozrics either, to be honest. 20 years ago I was more into them.
I loved the Oriental Wind/Okay Temiz album (should listen again, been quite some years). I should have included that here as Oriental Wind. I remember thinking, should that be under Okay Temiz or Oriental Wind? I then forgot about it altogether. I think I checked out Nils Økland before, I will again. PA puts ØRESUND SPACE COLLECTIVE under O, and often I will follow them, but not always. Otherwise Thee Oh Sees would be in this poll and not T. Edited by Logan - September 10 2024 at 11:29 |

Thanks all. Here's a taste of P:
Paavoharju Parliament The Alan Parsons Project Parquet Courts Pearls Before Swine Penguin Cafe Orchestra The Pentangle Pere Ubu Perfume Genius Linda Perhacs Perigeo Bruno Pernadas Luis Pestana Phew Phoenix Picchio dal Pozzo Piero Piccioni Pierrot Lunaire Richard Pinhas PinioL Pink Floyd Placebo The Plastic People of the Universe Plat du Jour Pochakaite Malko PoiL / PoiL & Junko Ueda Iggy Pop Popera Cosmic Popol Vuh Portico Quartet Portishead Pram Jean-Paul Prat Premiata Forneria Marconi Present The Pretty Things Julian Priester Procol Harum Protomartyr Pseu Ptarmigan Public Image Ltd. Public Strain Pulp Pulsar No, say, Porcupine Tree as it's not one I ever really got into. Hard enough to choose anyway as I feel like there is so much potential P that I'm practically drowning in it (P). No doubt I will be leaving off various popular Ps, and I don't want to just stick with what is in PA. |

^ Thanks. There will be much less greatness once I trim it, I expect.

^ Due to the limits of space, only 25 options max are available for polls here, but I have 27, I doubled-up two of the 25 poll options. It is alphabetically listed mostly so Ozric Tentacles is right at the end as "Osibisa and/or Ozric Tentacles". It's inelegant to be sure. If one liked both of those and chose both, the idea is to vote twice and list both, if just one of the two is chosen, vote once and list that. The other that is doubled if any missed it when browsing through the poll options is otay:onii and/or the Orb (should have been The Orb with a big fat T, and there's one where I did not do both in alphabetical order).
I don't know if you're suggesting that I should have mentioned Martin Orford or if you're just mentioning it as one of your favourites which is something I do indeed encourage. While I would assume the latter as I have not exactly shown myself to be much of a Neo-Prog guy, I actually have not listened to his solo music. Whether one would expect me to like it or not, I would be up to listening to some new-to-me music (and others might be too) if anybody wants to share some choice tracks of acts not in the list. I love it when topics become little listening rooms (where people get exposed to some new-to-them music and comment on it, especially if they enjoy the music). ^ here is Martin Orford doing his take 'AOR'. The Old Road is one of my favourite albums of the last 25 years. Shame he retired from music almost immediately after having already left IQ a few years earlier.

Thanks, Richard. While I do find his vocals too AORish (reminiscent to me of a very AORish take on Genesis) and the cheap and thin sounding keys remind me of some inexpensive Karoake knock-offs from South-East Asia where they take popular songs and present cheesy keyboard instrumentals to sing along with, I do appreciate the song and find it quite lovely. |

Voted for Oiseaux - Tempete, .O.rang, Ozric (90s - as I haven't listened to much of their music from the 2000s).
"O"ther mentions - OSI, Ovrfwrd, Orchestre Tout Puissant Marcel Duchamp, Onségen Ensemble. |

Leaders Le Orme with 5 votes more than Oldfield... that's what I call a surprise. Wouldn't have expected the Ozrics to compete with Oldfield either, although the pairing with Osibisa certainly helps.
