Yesterdays is a collcetion of early Yes with the addition of America written by Paul Simon. I like the selection of songs on the album. Edited by Olympus |

I remember buying it on vinyl. Toss up between Time and a Word and America, I'll plump for the former.
Great live version of America on "Keys to Ascension I" |

America is the best track on there but it is A simon & Garfunkel cover , so I went for Astral Traveller!

let's just stay above the moral melee
prefer the sink to the gutter keep our sand-castle virtues content to be a doer as well as a thinker, prefer lifting our pen rather than un-sheath our sword |

Time And A Word, although America ran it close

"Death to Utopia! Death to faith! Death to love! Death to hope?" thunders the 20th century. "Surrender, you pathetic dreamer.”
"No" replies the unhumbled optimist "You are only the present." |

Sweet Dreams (America is great too). I love Yes' first two albums -- very underrated. |

My first Peruvian edited album I ever had, believe it wsa one of the first to be released here, listened it so much that had to buy another one because was all scratched. I'm between Time and a Word and Dear Father, I think I'll go with Dear Father but don't ask me why because I don't know. Iván Edited by ivan_2068 |

I own this collection. My favourite song is Time and a Word but I cannot say I like this album very much. |

This album introduced me to this band, and basically to the prog genre! I had heard URIAH HEEP before, and liked their Roger Dean covers. I saw this CD on a discount, andrushed home to listen at it. Tidididididi tididi...

I like the whole album, but "America" is just totally bad-ass. Great Roger Dean artwork too.

I almost voted for Sweet Dreams if only because the melody shows up decades later as a disguised riff when Tony Kaye rejoined the group. (I've actually forgotten where it shows up now . . .)
But America won out. I don't have problem with it being a cover of a Paul Simon song any more than I have a problem with Into the Lens being a cover of a Buggles song. They're both fantastic. |
