I would have to go with Led Zepplin as the most influential band, but then they were influenced by the Beatles, who were influenced by... so who gets the credit. It's like looking into a mirror that is looking into a mirror that is looking into a mirror that is....

Gentle Giant!!!


I have never heard anything that was as good as that. It combines melodic medieval and classical music with crazy new sounds, absoluty brilliant obliged with such a high power that it makes you bowl over. I always wondered why so less people don't know them (concerning to the people who usually don't listen to prog). Gentle Giant is the best band ever!!!

This may be due to my young age, or simply a biased opinion, but the band that truly strikes me as the best is TOOL.
