Office Of Strategic Influence 2 (with Mike Portnoy)

Jim Matheos, Kevin Moore and Mike Portnoy were at Carriage House Studios in Connecticut on November 18-20 tracking drums for the forthcoming OSI album! Jim and Kevin are now tracking guitars and vocals, and mixing will take place in January 2006.

So, what do you think about OSI? What do you expect from this new album?

Waaw A new OSI! That would be great! Loved the first album, it's so different from a "regular" prog album  Count me in when it comes out!

I hope it will be different but the first, but not too different. You know what I mean. The same atmosphere, same skills, etc. thanx for bringing the good news!

Nothing to see here, move along.

As much as I appreciated the first album, I felt it was lacking something.  Although i'm not sure what.  Most of the songs were incredibly well crafted, but something was missing.  Hopefully the sequel can put any doubts in my mind to rest.

I loved the first OSI album and cannot wait for their next effort.

I hope Sean Malone is on this one too, because I see no mention of him.

I was just going to say the same thing.  He's easily one of the most underrated prog artists out there.

He is probably one of the most underrated bassists in prog.

He's also one of the best.

Indeed. I didn't even know about Gordian Knot until about a week ago, but his work with Cynic is enough to convince me of his genius.
