Fragile Vastness is a greek prog group... They are really amazing!!! This band should really be added on PA I would ask the admins to add them but i don't have time...... Who I'm I trying to fool. I'm just lazy. Anyway their new cd is called "a tribute to life" . I was going to right the concept of it but I found it somewhere and just copied it (what did I tell you.... I'm really lazy) so here it is: Tribute To Life is a 2-disc concept album that follows the last two months of a man's life after he learns he has a fatal form of cancer. Anger, disbelief, crushed faith, denial and finally acceptance are all covered on the album's 17 tracks with skillful playing and a soulful touch. The main character eventually sells all of his possessions and decides to satisfy is lust for travel and go places and see things he always wanted to while he can. This journey brings out the true strength of the band, their ability to use so many worldly musical styles and borrow from many genres to create a truly inspiring mosaic of multicultural songs. As our character travels the globe, the styles switch off depending on what part of the world he finds himself. Here you can find Peruvian chants, flamenco guitar, mariachi guitar and several varieties of middle-eastern music. There are several guest musicians on this album bringing in and expanding on their international vibe. I think I heard a sitar, violin, clarinet, saxophone, maracas, timpani drums, pan flute and several additional instruments I am not knowledgeable enough to identify. This mixing of styles can draw in listeners from all walks of life and from all musical influences, but the foundation is clearly built on progressive and symphonic metal. this was taken from: http://www.progressiveworld.net/fragilevastness.html Here is their site but its under construction right now: http://www.fragilevastness.com/ "It will remind us that we have got to appreciate what we have while we still have it" I think its an amazing concept . You must listen to the music. It's spectacular.... They also play a cover of the Beatles song Help. If you are interested I think I could try and write a review for every song not promising anything though. Has anybody listened their cd?

Songs reviews are interesting, but, placed in the forum, they will be lost soon. When the band is added in Progarchives, reviews are always available.
By the way, is it the same band (I looked what can be ordered in Moscow stores)? FRAGILE VASTNESS "EXCERPTS" Edited by NotAProghead |

I visited band's site. Yes, "Excerpts" is their album. I'm reading the review (following to your link) and it seems this album is a promising work. What do you think, can "Tribute To Life" be interesting to those who are not prog metal fans? |

It has many kinds of music but they are mostly a prog-metal band.... I would tell you to buy it.... you can try I guess....... it's worth it! But if you dont like prog-metal your missing a very nice part of the album.... I don't know. I suggest you to try... Mabye it will change your opinion about prog-metal |
