I dont know about you guys but I am a huge claypool fan and I was surprised that he wasnt in the archives. He's done alot of work on Several Tom Waits albums. You can sense the influences of The Residents (obviously with all the covers hes done) and Zappa of course. He has really shaped his own form of music.I figured that I would find him in the RIO/Avant Prog Section but he was nowhere to be found.I'm just inquiring as to why he wasnt there.

P.S. Did i Mention he's one of the best bassists on the Planet....Seriously hes a Freakin' Mutant

I do really agree with you on this.  Personnaly, I ain't a huge Claypool fan, but I know that a lot of Primus stuff is just amazing and that the colonel Claypool did two wonderful albums, which are very prog, by the way.  I really love Tom Waits, and I'd like to have him on the site.  I think he's prog at least more than Deep Purple or Queen, and his music is so original and wonderful.  It could easily fit into Prog related

I also would love to see Tom Waits on the archives as equally as I would like to see Claypool.Waits is brilliant and innovative with his words,He's practically a poet(an abstract one at that) and Musical genius as well.Truly a legend.

No offense to anyone, but "prog" and "progressive," re music, are now all but meaningless terms.

The words meant something in the 70s, but now -- at least here -- seem to mean all "good" or "above average" music. (Now define "good" and "above average.")

The "if this, then this too" arguments will NEVER end. Each new artist added leads to a call for four more, it seems....

Bring 'em all in, I say.Stern Smile

We need another website. Maybe something along the lines of www.hereistheactualprog.com or something like that. And then another site called maybe www.hereisthecrapthatloserswishwasprogbecausetheyfeelitwould vindicatetheirchildishopinions.com . That would really clear some stuff up I think.

This is in response to Peter's post. Nothing against Les.
