I am like you
s1ipp3ry

I have this OCD which compels me to own every studio album (no live shows, DVD's or EPS) from a band I really love. As of late it would be Thinking Plague, Univers Zero, Taal, Nil, White Willow etc.

A little bit of all of them.

Atleast, that's what I think. Maybe I belong in an asylum, maybe I'm completely sane.
My music!

I put my Various Artists at the end of my collection as well (right before my Multimedia/Misc.)...I don't need to put them under V because it's self evident, so I sort them by the actual name of the compilation, ie. 1-13 first (for my self-made compilations), then Heat (for Heat soundtrack) etc. etc. I was going to put Heat under G for Elliot Goldenthal, but only several tracks were composed by Goldenthal and I settled for VA as more appropriate.

The classical one is a good question. Personally, I would organise by performer (so you know who the actual performer is) and the date performed.

Yes, I'm the Dr. Phil of completely useless organisational habits in your music collection that will never actually get you ahead in life (or a real job for that matter). Alas, I find myself sinking in a morass of depression and ineptitude, but at least I have a damn fine sorted collection of music. HAH!

I just re-read some of that and am wondering if any of it made any actual sense?

Yes, I'M not crazy...
