Joy Askew is coming to my school, this is what it says...

The Department of Fine Arts is pleased to announce "A Conversation with Joy Askew," British rocker famous for her performances with Joe Jackson, Laurie Anderson, Peter Gabriel, and Quincy Jones, on Monday, February 20, at 4pm in Smith Auditorium. The title of her talk is "Women in Rock." This conversation with Joy Askew coincides with the curriculum of the History of Rock and Roll class and his sponsored by the Department of Fine Arts. All are invited; please see attached flier.

Anyone ever heard of her, any idea what she did with gabriel? Id love to talk to her and ask her about it!!

I've heard of her as a member of Laurie Anderson's band circa 1983-84. She played keys I believe, and appears in LA's concert movie Home Of The Brave (Adrian Belew was also part of that band).

Note: As part of the nightly routine on that tour, during a song break Laurie Anderson would call Joy on the phone (from across the stage) and they would have a little chat.

Not sure what she ever did with PG. I'd guess something around the time of So or Us.

I'd definitely attend the program though!

EDIT:  I checked So and Us...didn't see her mentioned anywhere. So much for that theory.

So much music. So little time.
