Lies and Butterflies - Mystery. Symphonic prog at its very best - great vocals, instrumentation, song structure and lyrics. This Canadian band have been on a roll for several albums now and long may it continue!

Hey guys!!! I recommend MAGI DARA - The Red Tiger Nebula, however what kind of subgenre of prog rock are they? Can anyone help classify them for us? I have been trying to with my friends but we just don't know!

Either the search function on this board does not work or I'm stupid. I could not find any hint for this awesome group:

Their CD is running in my player on a daily basis. Highly recommended.

A highly underrated album. It has some funk and soul moments, but to me the Rock/Progressiv elements dominating. Some might think that it is strange mix but I say, great music:

Not easily classifiable. Mixes several types of music genres - prog, rock, Arabic, etc and uses eastern instruments among others and violin, viola cello, harp, mandolin etc. The singer Cyoakha Grace has a beautiful voice. For some reason, it reminded me a bit of Led Zeppelin when they made some eastern sounding songs. Good album and worth a listen.

Interesting early work of Aryeh Frankfurter....yes, that's his real name.  He has made a name for himself as a harpist and nyckelharpa player in the traditional/Celtic/folk scene, along with wife, Lisa Lynne.  His solo works and work with Lisa Lynne are wonderful, if you like this sort of thing.  Also plays with Patrick Ball (harper) and has formed the New World String Project.  Also plays the other bowed instruments.
