check out "five leaves left" by nick drake, pretty sad stuff. its a shame he died at age 26

I don't think this album is particularly sad, although it does sound like it. RIP, Nick. Also, do check out at least a few tracks from "Pink Moon".

I'm sure that some PA team representatives have enjoyed "The Return of the Durutti Column". I'm also sure that some PA members who have not heard this album will enjoy it too, even though it's not exactly prog by PA standards; it's jazz mixed with some folk, classical, and electronica.

Oh, yeah! I really like Harvest Breed. I tried playing it on my guitar with standard tuning, but did not succeed LOLBig smile . 

BTW, on the topic: where would you be without Bert Jansch's catalogue? Check out his '65-'71 stuff, especially the debut.

Would you recommend any of Opeth's work as stuff where the musicians were concentrating on tone and melody or just skill or ... ? ( IF this was not mentioned on the thread before. )

In my opinion damnation is opeth's most interesting chord and melody writing, even more dissonant than their heavy stuff.. if you are a fan of jazzy cluster chords you will love it.

I know it may come out a bit odd, to recommand a King Crimson thing, as you would expect it to be something everyone would allready know.
But with only 46 ratings - and 3 reviews, it seems that it may not be that well knows.
A stunning EP live preformance falling in between Crimsons last two studio's.
Lovely, if you dont know it, check it out.

PLEASE, start with Deloused and work your way chronologically. It's much better that way. You might lose interest around Bedlam or Octahedron if they don't click with you quickly. 

Is there anything soft Mars Volta made? Something soft and quiet? I'd feel more comfortable if I ventured there, 'cause weird metallic leanings are tough for me to absorb.
