Bill Withers ripped off SPIRIT, omfg!!!!!

         I went and listened to "Cold Wind" on "Clear", and there is a VERY similar melody line there!!!

         That makes TWO major song rip-off's of Spirit songs.  The other one is much more famous, and is mentioned in the liner notes of the remastered reissue of the first Spirit album (S/T); the song "Taurus" was ripped off by none other than Led Zep on "Stairway To Heaven"!!!  Turns out that Led Zep opened for Spirit on LZ's first national tour, and in fact covered yet another Spirit song (Fresh Garbage, I think) in their early live shows.  Spirit members recall Page and Plant standing in front of the stage as Spirit played, no doubt writing down chord progressions to be pilfered later.  This has been mentioned by many different sources over the years, so it's likely true; just listen to the first few acoustic guitar notes of "Taurus"...
