Frankly, I've never understood the fuss over U2. Other the The Joshua Tree, I just don't see anything all that great about them.

The only reason the Stones are overrated is becuase they've been at it for 153 years.

U2.They are practically held as greatest band of the world, and I hardly see anything special in their outputs.

why is led zeppelin and pink floyd on this list?!??  anyway i think the stones are incredibly over rated.  their preformance at the super bowl was weak

Multiple votes should be possible. I'd vote for the Stones, Elton John and U2. Never heard anything of Coldplay yet. And who the hell is Dave Mathews?

Dave Matthews Band

If they are that wealthy and I have never heard anything from them (even by accident on the radio) then they do not deserve their wealth

U2 and Stones deserved their wealth for historical reasons - they helped shape rock music and were even groundbreaking in their own way

Ditto for Zep, Floyd and Mc Cartney

Only Elton John is another possible candidate for that question and  from that list

content to be a doer
as well as a thinker,

rather than un-sheath our sword

Dave Mathews is in my opinion one of the best non prog groups, and they're much much much ... better musicians than Rolling Stones or U2

Coldplay's a worse Radiohead rip-off than Muse.

Never heard of him myself either.

I voted The Stones, never heard a decent song from them.

seriously, screw Dave Matthews.

they actually wouldnt be a bad band, except for their fans consist of every stupid-ass-pink-polo-shirt-with-the-collar-popped-wearing-BM W-driving-lacrosse-playing frat boy in America.  he's really not all that damn good.

and I hate fratboys.
