Since they're apparently here to stay, we might as well share our favorite 'prog-related' lyrics from the boys from up-north.  Mine?  From "Be My Lover" -

"I got a present in my pocket,
All I've gotta give
A little present
From the Rocket.
All I've gotta give."

Yours?

"Peace is the only battle worth waging."

^

Maybe something from "Boy's Nite Out" -

"Walkin' on the wild side out of control
We're a hard act to follow
Let the good times roll
Better lock up your daughters
When we knock on your door
You know we love 'em and leave 'em
Begging for more."

"Peace is the only battle worth waging."

Always found Triumphs lyrics to be secondary when compared to...well...lots.

But always had a soft spot for Hold On. Amazing song.

EDIT: Oops, sorry missed the joke. I get it now.

Rock on.

I've got something on my mind
I want you to know
Rock troops are on the move
It's startin' to show
Paratroopers everywhere
Can't you see
Strategic weapons
Are something we don't need...

-Allied Forces

Umm...riigghhht.

I've always found Ricks voice a little too much like a cat with a hot poker up it's ...

But thats just me.

Here I'm shadowed by a dragon fig tree's fan
ringed by ants and musing over man.

Yeah, but quite the ladies man -

"Hey pretty baby forget all your fears.
Rock to the music ringin' in my ears;
Well I'm a see-saw lover and I think you should know,
If you don't want to make it then you got to go."

classy!

"She climbs into bed, pull the covers overhead, and turns her little radio on;
She's had a rotten day so she hopes the DJ's gonna play her favorite song.
It makes her feel much better, brings her closer to her dreams,
A little magic power makes it better than it seems.

She's young now, she's wild now, she wants to be free
She gets the magic power of the music in me."

Time and time and time again
Time after time after time
Round and round and round again
Time never waits
Time never ends
All of your life
All the time
Goes on by
By and by and by

-Time Canon

Deep man, real deep.

Didn't know in addition to rock guerilla and sooper stud, Rik was also a philosopher, didja?

And being a "ladies man" has too do with music???

One more, as a nightcap -

"The way you shake and shimmy,
girl you drive me wild;
When you touch me girl,
you set my soul on fire.

Can't we lovey-dovey.
like the way we used to do;
That's what I like."

Goodnight.

Triumph always pride themselves in meaningless lyrics depicting rock lifestyles on the road

Accidentaly, once in a while a song did come through as a little more meaningfull such as the three part The city

Blinding Light Show , too

let's just stay above the moral melee
prefer the sink to the gutter
keep our sand-castle virtues
content to be a doer
as well as a thinker,
prefer lifting our pen
rather than un-sheath our sword

I find most of their lyrics are Spinal Tap-esque.

Follow your heart (you got to follow your hearrrrrrrrrrrt)
Living for today, forget about tomorrow
Follow your heart (you got to follow your hearrrrrrrrrrrt)
Any other way can only lead to sorrow

wow, that's deep.

I always found it funny that Rick Emmet left Triumph
because they were getting too overproduced and
commercial sounding, only to release a solo album
that was very overproduced and very commercial
sounding.

... but jeez, the guy can play guitar.
