What do you ELP fans think of Carl Palmer hitting the road with a guitarist and bassist, doing renditions of the classics? will it work???

The studio version of Karn Evil 9 has a guitar on it and so does Still You Turn Me On.

I have not heard Palmer's recent Works albums that have the guitar, but have tickets to see the trio when they come to NY. It should be interesting. I don't know what to expect. I think it is a shame that the band does not get back together. It's not lke they are doing anything original. They're all doing ELP stuff. I saw Emerson last year. He has not changed a bit, though he should because at 62 his act is getting ridiculous. After his carpel tunnel, he cannot play as fast but still tries to take everything as fast as possible. It's not necessary.

I hope he makes it to the west coast of the US this year. So far it is only going as far west as Chicago. I would love to see him do this show. I am hoping Keith Emerson does a US tour as well or at least some other dates as well as Nearfest in June.

I have both CDs, and, while they are not bad, the guitarist makes them a tedious listen by playing every song with the exact same effects & tone. Emerson used different keyboards & patches for most songs, creating different moods & textures. On the CP recordings each song has a similar feel.
That said, I will probably go see the band when they play Arlington Massachusetts in May.

I have seen Carl and his band for the last three years the young guitarist is very very talented and the old drummer ain't too bad either they play a terrific mixture of ELP classics and classical pieces themselves.

Fantastic band to see live. The live albums don't capture how good they are when you see them really live.Carl is still an amazing talent and the young looking guitarist is nifty!

I heard on a radio advertisement that Emo will be in Conn. this summer so I think a larger tour is planned although there is no tour date list on the website.
