Will be performing live at the Liberation Day Festival in Wageningen, Holland - May 5!!!

Anathema have been invited to perform at this years 'Bevrijdingsfest' (Liberation day festival) in Wageningen, Holland on the 5th of May.

Each year on the fifth of May, all throughout the Netherlands, Liberation Festivals (Bevrijdingsfestivals) take place to commemorate the liberation of The Netherlands from nazi-Germany on the 5th of May 1945. The festival in Wageningen has something special to it, because Wageningen is the city where the peace pact was actually signed in 1945.

The festival in Wageningen is held in the inner city and consists of multiple stages, featuring all kinds of music and performances for free. Kabaal am Gemaal is one of the main stages in the city and is remarkable because of its alternative line up, and the input of a lot of volunteers.

Happens to be my favourite band of the past 10 years, so I just had to spread the word - and the love.

Ah, I see. Thought you meant that they weren't exactly prog (and you'd be right to think so, they're not) and I wanted to tease you.

If they are not prog what genre do they belong to?

Explain? They're in the Archives here, rightly so, as their more recent releases most definintely go into the 'prog-related' category at least...

I do know they started out as a Doom metal band, but they left that musical style some seven years ago. Why they are now categorized here as 'Prog-Metal' is a big  ??? to me as well. Their modern style is more like Radiohead than like Dream Theater, for instance!

Ah... now I understand. Radiohead shouldn't be here either!

Uhuhh... Hi Dirk!!! Yep, Anathema remains a musical anathema - all caused by the gentlemen themselves, I suppose.

Oops - if I should've posted this somewhere else on this board, please tell me where - I'll ask the mods to move it if necessary.
