No, not the Residents album (though I recommend that too, obviously) but a highly unknown kooky US group with avant-prog leanings. In particular, their fine fine album The Further Adventures of Der Shimpkin.

Part Magic Band, part Zappa, part Residents, part... well, to be honest, their blend of sounds is unique and incomporable. They created highly playful, weird-yet-accessible music. Their strangeness is very much worn on their sleeves, which makes it all the more likeable. Jazzy, funky and downright absurd, this is one for avant-prog fans and phobics alike.

The album is ultra-rare, so if anyone needs some help finding a copy, PM me.

In the meaningwhile, here's a taste of this charming band:

Enjoy it, chaps and chappesses!
