has anyone heard of the band Smegma? Yesterday I found one of their albums on SoulSeek, called "Smell The Remains". Judging by the name and the cover, I thought it was Black Metal or something. But then I found out that it was weird avant-garde rock with tape-loops, a lot of noise and funny lyrics. Some sort of fusion of Krautrock, punk and Zappa...

Anyone?

(I'm sure Mr. Philippe or Mr. Chantraine has heard of them, you like avant-garde and Krautrock right?)

Well I like it. The music is other than you would expect. Not childish and gross, but very experimental!

Here's the (very subtle) cover:

and here you can find a fan site: http://www.geocities.com/SunsetStrip/Gala/8418/smegdex1.html

If you want to hear some of their music, my SoulSeek username is Joren (surprising, eh?). You can download some music from me, if you like.

Just in case anybody doesnt know, smegma is the dead skin cells that are found under the foreskin of an uncircumsized penis, or on the lips of the vagina. A popular insult in the college crowd at the moment is smegma breath. Fun stuff.

Sorry, it's not a "gross" band name but it's nonetheless fun.
