Hi, im new to this, so sorry if it takes a while to work it out. But, being an old prog head, and regular gig visitor between 1983-1995, I managed to visit the Marquee and Royal Standard on a number of occasions, and picked up tapes that the young bands were selling. Ark (from Birmingham) who featured a young John Jowitt (now IQ/Jadis), had 2 records (Vinyl) pressed around that time. 'The Dreams Of Mr Jones', and 'New Scientist', plus 2 tapes 'Archives' and 'Stand Alone'. Very dodgy sound on the tapes, but I bought them to familiarise myself with the set. Jadis had 2 tapes, one produced by Steve (Marillion) Rothery. This was pre-Martin Orford line up. G13, Out Of Reach, This Changing Face & Lost for Words.

While I am at it, and im not sure this is the right area for this info, heres the Ark records:

Dreams Of Mr Jones

Tracks:

1.Gaia

2.Through The Night

3.Kaleidoscope

4.Powder For The Gun

5.Mabeline

6.Nowheres Ark

New Scientist

Tracks

1.Calling You Now

2.8th Deadly Sin

3.New Scientist

4.Boudiccas Chariot

They also produced a CD/single after John Jowitt left for IQ, featuring Cover Me With Rain, Train, Walk All Over Me, Message To The World, and Celebrate, plus extended mixes of 'Rain' and 'Train'

it was produced on the A.M.A Records label in Birmingham, the line up at this time being:

Ant: Vocals, Flute

Pete Wheatley: Lead Guitar

Gel Newey: Bass Guitar

Steve Harris: Guitar Synth

Paul Rogers: Drums

By this time they were also slowly becoming less proggy and more metal.

Hope this helps
