This is one of those albums I happened to hear on a record store and immediatly asked what it was. Shortly after, I found myself purchasing it.

I think its a mind-blowing work, quite progressive at some points, but also with a clear rock edge. I don't really know anything about the band, apart from the recent events involving their singer/songwriter, and the fact they started somewhat as a punk-rock band in the eighties.

Anyone else familiar with them, this peticular album (Des Visages des Figures) and other works?
Bigger on the inside.

Not bad, but I prefer the early Noir Desir

Du Beton sur les plaines, Veuillez rendre L' ame  and the highly rated Tostaky are all excellent >> excellent hard rock quartet >> can be seen as the successor of other French group Trust , but Noir Desir is less punk energy, better songwriters and better aesthetics

the one you mention is doodling a bit in electronics

Intelligent rock with profound socially engaged lyrics

Bertrand Cantat is stillin jail for another five years, after the unvoluntary manslaughter he was trialed for.

let's just stay above the moral melee
prefer the sink to the gutter
keep our sand-castle virtues
content to be a doer
as well as a thinker,
prefer lifting our pen
rather than un-sheath our sword
