Sonja Kristina is still going strong [check out her website] but I've thought of a few more from the bad old days:

  Anna Meek-- CATAPILLA
Angella Allen -- CARMEN [and a stunner to boot]
Bobbie Watson-- COMUS [not real bad either]
  Pauline Adams-- STRING DRIVEN THING

I also read a recent review about SENSITIVE TO LIGHT who feature a bonney Scot--Jenny Lewis and don't forget Sam Baine with THE TANGENT>
Looking still the same after all these years...

Scanned this a few times and am astonished that the most magnificent Annie Haslam has hardly been mentioned.Without doubt on a plain of her own, far exceeding any other of her peers current or past.Heather Findlay of Mostly Autumn is another fine singer and Kate Bush is a Godess.Joni Mitchell is from Heaven.

What the hell do you mean *was*?

Jaye Foucher - guitar
Gilli Smyth of (Mother) Gong - poetry
Miquette Giraudy of Gong and System 7 - synths
Nohemi D'Rubin of Iconoclasta - bass
Chloe Alper of Pure Reason Revolution - bass
Marie Bernard Page of Et Cetera - keys
Dorothea Raukes of Streetmark - keys
Michelle Young of Glass Hammer and others - vox
Traci Hitchings to be mentioned again for Landmarq - vox

We should allow Liz Frazer and Kirsten Hersh just for being, well, briliant.

Can't forget Annie Haslam of course...

I agree 100% on Kate Bush and Joni Mitchell. They're among my all-time favourite female singers and musicians (and not only female, I have to say). Joni's live album "Shadows and Light", featuring among others the incredible talents of Pat Metheny and Jaco Pastorius, is utterly magnificent. And Kate's comeback album, "Aerial", was without a doubt one of the best releases of 2005.

to mention a few that have not been mentioned before:
Miquette Giraudy and Mireille Bauer of Gong. the former also appears on albums of Steve Hillage and System 7.
in Kraut there are Gille Lettmann (Cosmic Jokers), Rosi Müller (Ash Ra Tempel) and Limpe Fuchs (Anima).
Djong Yun sings on "Hosianna Mantra" by Popol Vuh.
Maria Archer sings on Embryo's "Bad Heads and Bad Cats" and "Live".
Claire Torry has to be mentioned for the vocal performance in "The Great Gig in the Sky". also Irene Papas for orgasming on "666" by Aphrodite's Child.
Sally Oldfield appears on Steve Hackett's "Voyage of the Acolyte". his second album "Please Don't Touch" features Randy Crawford

You never explain with your arguments on posts you don't like.
