I'm for Santana's inclusion, but I don't know in which subgenre. Possibly jazz-rock/fusion, at least as far as his '70s output is concerned.

Santana played blues, latin-rock, jazzrock, fusion, smooth-rock (Wink) so what to do with this creative chameleon Confused ?

I guess I'm in the minority, I just don't see it.  I'd vote a definite no overall, but if he must be in then at least put him in the category that doesn't count as prog.
