I have all their albums. I think they should be included in PA, at least as Prog-Related. Their first three albums are psychedelic-pop, while "Local Anaesthetic" (Vertigo 1971) is a fantastic prog-rock album!!! It was recorded with the help of Duhig and Field (of JADE WARRIOR) and Mel Collins, and it has two long tracks, "Modus Operandi" and the suite "Home" divided in 5 movements.

Yes, Proto Prog - they fusioned many genres into their music.
Pop, Folk, Psychedelic, Orchestra , Jazz and Rock music. My favorite album by them is "All of Us" from 1968.
Their debut album "The Story of Simon Simopath" (1967) was one of the first convcept albums ever recorded, see the album artwork very colourful and imaginative.
I find "To Markos 3" (1969) a more weaker album IMO.
They are classified as a cult 60s rock band, similar to Moody Blues and Procol Harum.

Although they recorded the first rock opera that I know of in 1967 ('The Story Of Simon Simopath'), I'd honestly vote no. The songs from their early era are twee psych pop (not a criticism!), and only the Vertigo albums veer towards prog- it's not very good prog either, imo. The songs are hideously dragged out with a minimum of good ideas, to these ears, at least.

I'd be reasonably comfortable with Prog related.
I agree with Salmacis that the Vertigo album (or albums) is not that great, but inclusion on the site is not of course down to how good an album is.
