At the original time of this poll I had just the one, but now I have two.  My daughter is three and a half, and my son is going on three months.  That's just the right number and boy to girl ratio for us.
Just a fanboy passin' through.

No children for us & no plans for any; who knows though, Vicky may wake up one day with the evangelical gleam in her eye...

I think there are quite a few couples of our generation who are choosing not to have children - as far as getting old is concerned, we've got that covered; befriend your friends' children & get them to look after you in your dotage.

I've got a 4 year old daughter.

My wife and I, we'd like to have a 2nd kid, but biologically there seems to be a problem. Adoption may be an option (that rhymes) but I'm not sure about the ethical part of it. Taking a kid out of a different country...

But we're happy with our 4-year old!

Why does adoption mean the child has to be from a different country - can you not adopt in your own country?

From the information that I have, there are very little children in Belgium waiting for adoption, and many parents who apply for it.
