Absolute Zero - Crashing Icons

This album gets mentioned frequently in RIO/avant discussions on this site, yet I don't think we've actually devoted a thread to this extrordinary work.

Oooh pity. Amazon did okay for me. ReR megacorp stock it. You could try them, though it may be pricier than what amazon were charging.

Ditto. Still, they normally do the trick. It does feel a little dirty, shopping at amazon, like going to Tesco instead of that independant general store at the bottom of your street. It's just too bloody convenient sometimes.

That's odd, ReR USA has it for $13.95 (or $9.95 for download-only).

Both ReR USA or Wayside are excellent sources for this kind of stuff. I've been using Wayside for years and if anything their service has gotten better and faster over the years.

Awesome album, but what a bitch to get.

I've been looking for that album for a loooooong time now. I really want it!!

     It's a great album, which I keep coming back to...has something really fresh and takes big risks...everything progressive should always be doing, but usually doesn't. I especially love the bass playing, since there's no guitar and he covers that ground with fuzz tone bass. Pip Pyle shows a totally new side, more agressive than in his Canterbury masterpieces. Easy to get from Cuneiform/Wayside Records.

I've been looking to get that album for almost a year now, for a decent price, of course. But I haven't been too earnest but I think I'll get it now. I really liked the song that streams on the site.

I played this album for the second time the other week (this time on the stereo, rather than through headphones) and it started to click a bit with me.

I have yet to take in Aisling's vocals yet though, but I'm sure with future listens, they will work.

I happen to like the final track, it's the least difficult to get into, but it's still an amazing track.  I'm not too sure if it's a Rumba beat or what (can someone let me know?), but it's what keeps me holding on.

Pip Pyle's drumming is also phenomenal.

I agree with Empathy here, it is indeed difficult to appreciate at first, but I also recognised it's briliance upon first listen also.  It'll take time for it to work for me.

And remember folks, if it hadn't have been for a harddisk malfunction, we would have got a different, less visceral and probably more melodic work.

A purely amazing album and one I really want to play loud in the car with the windows wound down (when I get a new car, that is!).

That'll scare people off for sure.

Oh and I got my copy from Cuneiform/Wayside without any problems.
