Topic: Brand X - Japanese reissues...remastered?Posted: June 30 2006 at 11:05 |

Anyone out there picked up the recent reissues of the Brand X catalog from Japan? They certainly look nice, but I can't get a straight answer as to whether or not they have been remastered. The Colosseum II reissues were and sound absolutely fantastic, so I'd buy all of the Brand X if they followed suit. Anyone?

Overall, jap releases are the best. No absolute rule however.

Your money would better be spent on some Nucleus albums, much better jazz-rock/fusion than Brand X ever did.

Expensive! In Korea, I just picked up the first two Brand X records imported from Holland on the Virgin label. Bought one at a record shop for US$14 and one used for $9....at the same time the Japanese papersleeves were available at US$35 apiece. No bonus tracks but a Japanese remastering....but I've always thought the Virgin CDs sound great.

Although I must say that Brand X's first three albums are very good.
Nucleus rules.

Brand X (paper sleeve) ?
They are available on every shop in Japan
However the price is 2600 yen (22 ~ 23 USD). This is more expenxive than Dutch issue.
If you want to buy them, you can use HMV, amazon of Japan. But I don't know Disk Union, World Disque, Garden Shed can send CDs for foreign countries.
