Topic: Lacrimosa Posted: July 01 2006 at 11:58 |
I 've just listened to some songs of these guys, and i like their kind of music a lot. i also find the album covers to be fantastic. They give me a sense of deep sadness, but they're so "fantasy"!
Anyway, in the archives there is not a concrete "best album" of lacrimosa, so i think you fans can give me a deeper overview on the music. Please vote your fav album, and i will know the starting point of my listening.
Thank you in advance.

I see this poll is not very popular and rightly so. Lacrimosa IMO got nothing to do with Prog. As to their best album - I can wholeheartedly vote for Echoes as this is the only decent album by this band.

By all means! Start with Echoes, if you enjoy it - pick any else next, and so on, but do not expect too much to avoid disappointment. And in case you really like it - well, enjoy!!!

I haven't heard them all yet, but Stille is their best to me so far. The early albums are not as polished, and the more recent ones have a bit more commercial approach and follow a quite predictable formula. Anyway, great band and one of the few rock bands, as far as I know, to actually use an almost full symphonic orchestra on studio recordings.

I like them a lot,but surely they're not Prog - Prog-Related Sympho-Gothic I'd say .My favourities are early dark self-made trio - Angst/Einsamkeit/Satura.Other albums are pretty much sound like one another, but great anyway. Some favourite tracks: Schakal Sapphire My Last Goodbye Am Ende stehen wir Zwei Malina Apart Die Strasse der Zeit Den Morgen Danach etc

A friend of mine bought Lichtgestalt and sounds good, also i had the luck of seeing them last year, performing some songs of their latest CD, and it was good.
But i recommend Einsamkeit, at least as an album it`s my favorite.
If you want a song, "Sanctus" which appears in Elodia, is my favorite song, brilliant!
