Liquid Tension Experiment definitely for me too. I'd like them to go out in the studios again.

RIP in bossa nova heaven.

The result of kicking Labrie out of the band (which by and large is the weakest link in terms of Dream Theater + the factor which keeps them from acheiving an even larger fanbase) would amount to what LTE is/were.
As much as I like Tony Levin (and this is by no means a discredit) Myung has proven live he can play some of those parts...so it's not exactly a huge, huge loss, even though I'd take Levin over Myung any day.
All this to say, realistically, I voted for DT.

Simple:
DT = 8 albums
LTE = 2 albums

DT... the quality is equal, but DT has the quantity edge.

welll, what's this poll all about actually? who we like more or who we would like to hear another album from? or who did more for prog music? either way, i voted DT simply because i always wait with anticipation the next album hoping that there's something new there and not knowing what to expect [even though the album might not meet my expectations]
with LTE i would find it quite hard for them to surpass my expectations [over the top instrumental music]

Dig me...But don't...Bury me
I'm running still, I shall until, one day, I hope that I'll arrive
Warning: Listening to jazz excessively can cause a laxative effect.

Another poll with the soul purpose to bash Dream Theater ... I`m getting a bit tired of these polls ... Dream Theater is a friggin fantastic band , while I respect highly the capabilities of LTE I enjoy Dream Theater more ! (despite what the "experts" say)

What kind of logic is that? King Crimson must be the best band of all time with all of their live Crimson Club releases. LTE for me.

Well, with almost 300 albums, I think John Zorn is the ultimate artist ever!

Same band save for the base player and vocalist. So, no I would not agree that this is "Another poll with the soul purpose to bash Dream Theater".

I like both a lot, but I voted for DT because they are an actual band not a project per se. LTE is an experiment essentially, and is much more, well, Experimental!
DT is much more evolved and thought out, not just the guys jamming (though LTE is awesome!). It's essentially this- Dream Theater- Labrie- Myung+ Levin+ jazz influence+ total musical freedom= Liquid Tension Experiment.

Agreed. And it's quite ironic, really, considering that one of the reasons they hired LaBrie in the first place was to help them get MTV exposure .
Nonetheless, I still voted for Dream Theatre. Liquid Tension Experiment are fantastic, but they get a little repetitive after a while.
