I don't know their pre 666 albums but 666 is fantastic! BTW, 666 is prog folk.

The first 2 sides maybe. The rest crosses over into other genres. All The Seats Were Occupied is closer to Pink Floyd's 'Echoes' than to any folk sound I've heard.

Pre 666 Aphrodite's Child can be compared with From Genesis to the Revelation in the case of Genesis.
Most of the tracks aren't even Prog Related.
666 on the other hand has a symphonic structure but so rich in Greek ethnic elements that can't go to other place than Folk Prog.

I like the few psychedelic songs on their pre-666 albums more than the whole 666 album ("End of The World" and "It's Five O'Clock" for example). They hold much stronger emotional load in my opinion.

Since I've only heard 666, I won't vote.

You've just had a heavy session of electroshock therapy, and you're more relaxed than you've been in weeks.

No arguments here. Some of their pre-666 work is really quite good (I particularly like Rain and Tears), though not very Prog.

I prefer those early songs as well. Good examples.
