Jumbo?? I think Jumbo is the most Kraut...
--- I cannot find those kind of influences people mention a lot... For example, I cannot find any Genesis influences on Grobschnitt or PFM... ELP influences on Banco del Mutuo Soccorso... even Rockpommel's Land has just some Yes like moments during its 45 minutes... Rockpommel's has symphonic influences, but also some kraut/comic/psichedelic moments... It's more easy find Pink Floyd influences on Grobschnitt than another english band... also they were influenced by Hendrix, Zappa and psichedelic bands...
The german bands Grobschnitt, Eloy, Néktar, Mythos, Wallenstein, Pell Mell and more have few english influences and more Kraut influences... only Jane is Pink Floyd like... but it's my opinion...

recently had a conversation with Eroc which in sorts agree that Jumbo and RL were derivative
RL wears its Yes influences all the way down to the fake Roger Dean artwork.
And the debut album has some Santana influences >>> not least because of the double drumming attack

let's just stay above the moral melee prefer the sink to the gutter keep our sand-castle virtues content to be a doer as well as a thinker, prefer lifting our pen rather than un-sheath our sword

It's true.

I think "L'Isola Di Niente" reveals some influences of Genesis.

Yes, I agree Rockpommel's Land was an Eroc moment of weekness, perhaps influenced by some producer's idea, and he painted some Yes colors to Grobschnitt... but in a way Eroc helped the band to create a masterpiece of symphonic progressive, by mixing some others influences to the Yes like subject the band created a fantastic album... about Jumbo... I could not find those influences... my listening is not so good at this point.. hehe
--- BTW, it's my personal opinion so forgive me... but 'Rockpommel's Land' is better than 'Close to the Edge'.. hehehe... now many of you will try cut off my head... hehe
--- Hey Sean, tell Eroc I'm his fan..

You'd be surprised how many people don't find Close to the edge that much of a masterpiece.

I think the title track of CTTE is a masterpiece,i think somewhat less of the others especially Siberian Kathru (Tja,tja do da do da may be very progressive vocals but i find them annoying just the same, the bass riff in this tune is stunning though). I often listen only to the CTTE title track alone concluding i also think i enjoy Rock pommel's land somewhat more overall then CTTE overall.
