Just read on another board that former Colosseum saxophonist Dick Heckstall-Smith just passed away @ age 70 (of cancer). Can anyone provide more details or link to anews story? |

People are puzzled why I don't dig the Stones, well, I listened to the Stones, I tried, and I tried, and I tried, and--I Can't Get No Satisfaction!

Yes, it's true. I've only seen the news on BBC Radio 6 Music News: http://www.bbc.co.uk/6music/news/news_in_brief.shtml but it doesn't say anything other than announce his death. I read recently that he had left hospital in a wheelchair and was hoping to be able to play - in his wheelchair - with the band at their next concert. Sadly, it was not to be. Another founder-member of the Progressive Rock 'movement' gone. He sounded great on "Bread And Circuses".

oh, thats so sad. When I saw colosseum live this year (without him) they still seemed to have hopes for him to come back on stage. His sound on the albums is great!
