Yanni and John Tesh (I know he's not listed, but still) give the term "new age" a bad name, so bland and vapid. Enya is OK, but I don't own any of her records and don't care too. If you want to listen to better stuff in the same genre, go for Gandalf, Deuter, Eddie Jobson, Ryuichi (sp?) Sakamoto, some Roedelius solo albums, or maybe even some Wakeman albums (some aren't so bad believe it or not, but stay away from "The Family Album" ).

I disagree with most of the previous posts. I find these two at least respectable artists. If I had to choose, I would go against Yanni (sorry compatriot) and choose Enya. I own more Enya disks and I like her a bit more

Enya's voice is not bad, but her sister - Clannad's Maire Brennan - sounds miles better. I've got a couple of albums by her, but nowadays I find her quite boring. Yanni I don't know, nor am I that interested.

I have recordings by both of them and I enjoy them both in small amounts.

Enya's very nice to listen to. It's folky and relaxing and makes you think of misty forests. It's not good for driving though as it may put you to sleep!
I never heard any Yanni but had a listen for the sake of this poll. It sounds like the background music on American afternoon soap operas.

Enya is a far better artist than many give her credit for (even though
she tends to be too repetitive) - as Ghost Rider said, her sister Maire
(or Moya as she calls herself nowadays) is more interesting. What I've
heard of Yanni is far less interesting - to put it mildly.
