Well, here is a situation. When I was a student I bought a FOREIGNER (yes, you've read correctly) cassette and in the booklet there was a brief history of the group. And what didn't I know?! The first four Foreigner albums were considered progressive rock?!Wacko As much as I love this band (and put me to the wall of Shame, I do like this band), they don't belong in the category of Prog-rock, not even the prog-related category.
Well what do you think about that and about that blunder?

Yup, the first four Foreigner albums were "progressive" - they progressed from bad to worse...LOL

Peace.

Comeon we're prog fans. We're not supposed to have a sense of humor.

I don't know if they are progressive, but people often says that the first four are better than the rest.

Rubbish. From what I know of Foreigner, they are even less prog than STYX, a pure AOR pop-rock with studio sophisticated sound production. Quite listenable, but hardly prominent for the type of music we are discussing here. Of course, one of the members was Mc Donald of KING CRIMSON fame, but that does not mean much.

I thought some ex-members of Spooky Tooth had some input too??? On a serious footing, I quite liked some of the first 4 albums, but clearly as AOR not progressive rock
