I would just like to suggest the German band Dennis

A one-off project featuring Carsten Bohn, Thomas Kretschmer (ex-Frumpy), Manfred Rurup, Olaf Casalich (ex-Release Music Orchestra), Michael Kobs and Willi Pape (ex-Thirsty Moon). The band was named after Bohn's son Dennis. Their music was basically instrumental progressive jazz-rock with much improvisation. The groups in which the musicians previously played give a good indication of what to expect here. It is one of the better recordings in this field, so it's a pity that the band didn't exist for long. Willi Pape and Carsten Bohn went on to Kickbit Information, a band which existed merely for months and didn't make any albums. Bohn then formed his Bandstand.

They produce one album called Hyperthalamus which comes across as a collection of extracts from acid-jams and freak-outs.

Personnel:
CARSTEN BOHN d
MANFRED RURUP kb
MICHAEL KOBS kb
THOMAS KRETSCHMER g
KLAUS BRIEST b
JIM WILEY b
WILLI PAPE sax, clarinet, flt
OLAF CASALICH perc

If you want I am more than happy to gather up all the material for their addition, I don't think there is going to be arguments of how progressive this band is

Sure.
But I want to get the OK from the appropriate genre team (in this cases the Jazz Rock team) for this addition and form the Band Admission Team (BAT).

Is that ok with you guys? (Jazz Rock team - Dick Heath, Alucard ans Zac M, BAT - Alucard, Chopper and Sonw Dog).

As usual, I'll give you proper credit for this addition, since it is your work.

This band has much more to do with krautrock, next to bands as Gila, Gaa, Guru Guru...Consequently I will recommend to add this one in the appropriate category, thanks!!

Who said anything about Krautrock Confused?

I said specifically above that I will await the consent of the JAZZ-ROCK team, not YOUR TEAM!
Plus, if you read Adam's initial post you will see him make reference to Jazz Rock as well.
I am begining to think this is something personal....

you must re-listen the album properly, you will assume that this band has much more things in common with Guru Guru. Moreover, before saying stupidities you should read some stuffs about the history of 70s German rock. I've ever included several kraut-jazz as Dzyan and Annexus Quam in Krautrock, Dennis Hyperthalamus deserves the same label. It's different with Embryo, Kraan...their sound is by far more jazzy.

First you say it is not Krautrock, now you say it is?  Confused

Oh and sorry for being stupid, you royal smartness.
Now I am convinced you have something personal against me.
Go on, keep calling me names. Show how smart you are and idiot I am. I am used to people being like that.

I hereby leave you all alone and get out of here.

Why do you call me a friend?
You have made it very clear by calling me as someone who says Stupidities, that we are not friends.
Why pretend to be friendly now?

Be happy now, I will steer off so you won't have to suffer form my idiotic comments.

How convenient! Call me stupid and then say to ME why don't I send YOU a PM.
WHY didn'y YOU send me a PM calling me stupid in private in the first place, then?

Anyway, I have no interest in discussing with someone calling me stupid. I have had enough of abuse of people. I try to do all I can for this website and spend a lot of my spare time here because I choose to and want to, but still people feel the need to show how smart they are compared to me. Leave me alone and let me do my job. If you have any criticism, do it politely and send me a PM.

NOW,
Just answer the question which is fundemental to the topic of Dennis:
First you say Dennis is not Krautrock. Then you post that it is (along with insults that were totally uncalled for, but I am used to that).
So which is it? Krautrock or Jazz-rock?
I am asking this, even though I have really no interest in talking with you, solely for the sake of making this clear for Black Velvet and the Bands Admission Team.

Hmmm... I never meant for this to get into feuds. From looking around the internet, I have noticed over time there have been some discrepances in genre classifications of this band. Not to meantion numerous other German bands.

To make things a little clearer the first statement in the openning post can from this site.

tmachine.chat.ru/germ/D1.htm

For me personally, in terms of Kraut to jazz content I find this band to be on similar levels as Eiliff. So I guess this is where I am standing at the moment. But I would like to hear more peoples opinions on this matter?
