Although Mistreated is a big favourite, I love this version of Burn, so Burn it is for me.

There is an official "Live in Paris" CD that's similar to "Made in Europe" but longer and faaaaaar better. I really recommend it, It's my favourite DP album (Excluding the boxset "On the road").

Tough choice between BURN and MISTREATED.
I went for Mistreated. Blackmore and Coverdale combine to create a classic. I think it's the only track Hugues doesn't sing on, I was never that keen on the idea of twin vocalists in the band. Ritchie's guitar work on Mistreated is superb.

Funny how the tracks from the Stormbringer album get no vote. >>> not an accident!
I should think that soon or later this album will come out in an expanded re-issue. I mean, this was a single vinyl lasting somùe 40 mins. Probably got at least another hour's worth stashed somewhere.

Sorry Bob, the double vocals on Stormringer the album, are a rare pleasure and re-listening to them made me sing along. Glen Hughes is like a dream come true on this.
I can't describe it, it's beyond words, let me just say, a most professional approach to complement the rather forced effort of Coverdale's reasonable voice that can't match Gillan's. Ronny James Dio was a more fortunate choice by Blackmore - later, but Gillan still rules.
Trevor Rabin's sweet back-up vocals on later Yes albums also come to mind, but really there is no comparison. Glen Hughes sings from the heart as only he knows how to.
I don't have Burn anymore, it mustn't have grabbed me back then, but I'd be keen to hear it again some day for there is no more material coming out of that genre anymore and every note is becoming more and more precious.... as time goes by.

I went for Mistreated. I love the studio, this live version and the live version Rainbow did of this song. I pretty much left DP after Burn I thought that was their peak. Stormbringer was not very good imho.

Oh joy! Another Glenn Hughes fan!  GH is my favourite singer of all, and I have quite a few records by him (sorry Hugues...  ). However, my favourite interpretation by GH in DP is the utterly wonderful "This Time Around" from "Come Taste the Band" (which is much better than "Stormbringer" IMHO).

Despite I like Stormbringer tracks very much (One of mmy favorite Purple albums) I have to go with the outstanding BURN, rarely heard such a good organ solo, it's simply power at it's purest expression.

The Live in Paris album is awesome. It's the last show for the Mk III, and it has an aura of melancholy (everybody in the band knew that Ritchie was off) and, although the guitar is not as inspired as in other times (Live in London), it's worth buying (or downloading).
