My vote goes for Voyage of the Acolyte since it is in my top 5 all time. Spectral Mornings is very good as well, but I still much prefer Voyage. How do you feel about these two splendid albums? Smile

My vote also goes for VOtA, a trully masterpiece, showed the way Genesis could have changed but sadly was impossible.

Both for me. Hackett is there, music is beautiful; just a tiny change on the feeling, Voyage of the Acolyte being a kind, sweet album, Spectral mornings a bit tougher. The bottom line, both albums have Steve Hackett at his best. And that is quite a best.

Voyage of the Acolyte.  Its his most beautiful and consisten record.  Spectral Mornings was okay, but "Virgin and the Gypsy" was a complete let down.  I was preparing for something "Turn of the Century-esque"  Plus, the vocals are dreadful on that track.  Spectral Mornings is a good album, Voyage of the Acolyte is clealry better of the two.

I like both a lot, but Voyage is better.

I prefer Spectral Mornings; it's Every Day that clinches it since I think it's one of the most perfect tracks ever.

It's the 'lost Genesis' album for me!
Can you tell me where my country lies?

He never topped Voyage of the Acolyte, although Spectral Mornings is great...

You've just had a heavy session of electroshock therapy, and you're more relaxed than you've been in weeks.

A hard choice, but I voted for Voyage in the end.
Spectral Mornings has some of my favourite Hackett songs on it, namely the brilliant Everday, the lovely Virgin And The Gypsy with its gorgeous harmonies, Tigermoth and the witty Ballad Of The Decomposing Man. And, of course, the title track. But Clocks I always felt was a bit of a let down.
The remaster is superb though, with a version of Everyday that has an ending instead of fading out.

But Voyage is so consistent it was probably his best album for years. For me it was, until Guitar Noir which has even better harmonies, and the exceptional To Watch The Storms.

Now if the poll was a choice between the last two I named there, my, that would be difficult!ConfusedCry

Fully agree with above.
SM is good album but can't beat Voyage.

Voyage of the Acolyte is almost perfect, except for the poppy Phil Collins track. Thought it was much more popular than Spectral Mornings.
